2002 'Moon' Sparkling Marsanne The first wine to be released under our 'Moon' label is something unique - a Sparkling Marsanne! Marsanne has been grown by the banks of the Goulburn River at Nagambie for over 100 years. It has traditionally been made into wonderfully long-lived table wines. We believe that this is the first time a Sparkling wine has been made from 100% Marsanne in Australia. It has been made according to traditional methods, fermented in bottle with champagne yeasts, and matured on yeast lees for nearly five years - long enough for the characteristic honeysuckle notes of maturing Marsanne to develop. The wine is a bone dry style with crisp succulent flavours and excellent length. It is good as an aperitif, with seafood or with other delicately flavoured foods. Production: 260 dozen Mail order $ 35.00 per bottle / $200 per case of 6. You can now buy this wine online at the MOON online cellar door |

A crisp young wine with unusual character. A bouquet of apples, butter and a citrus note remeniscent of cointreau. Relatively low in alcohol, at just under 12%, this young biodynamic wine is already showing a surprising richness of flavor from extended lees contact. Production: 60 cases. Mail order $ 20.00 bottle / $215 case |

A fresh and lively Chardonnay with plenty of body and character. The biodynamic grapes are grown on a terrace slope close to the river where the soil is mainly clay with a small amount of sand. Barrel fermentation in new and old french oak has produced a restrained lightly oaked style. This is a delicate yet rich wine with aromas of candied citron and drying hay. The palate has a firm mineral backbone with well balanced natural acidity, overlayed with lush honeyed saffron characters. The wine is drinking nicely now, and we expect that it will age well. Production: 240 cases. Mail order $ 27.00 bottle / $290 case. |

A luscious, opulent wine of great power and extraordinary texture. This wine is made from fully ripe, late harvested organic Viognier fruit grown in sandy loam soil. It is crafted in a bold traditional style. It has a bouquet of orange flower and peach blossom, an opulent rich texture and great depth of flavour. The finish is long, with a lingering silky mouth feel. Production: 160 cases. Mail order $ 28.00 bottle / $300 case |

A luscious Shiraz with a long savoury finish. The wine is full of cedar, plum and dark fruit characters
with hints of licorice and black pepper. The texture is plush
and velvety, with some some earthy darker notes. A plateau of mouth-filling but fine tannins leads to a long savoury finish. It has been matured in new and old French
oak, which augments rather than overpowers the fine Shiraz fruit.
Production: 210 cases. Mail order $ 28.00 bottle / $ 300 case. |

The Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in tough stony ground, where the vines struggle and produce a meagre amount of tiny-berried fruit. The wine was fermented in open vats and basket pressed. It spent two years in French oak barriques, only a few of which were new, to soften the tannins without allowing the oak to dominate. It was bottled without fining or filtration.
The wine shows black cherry characters typical of our Cabernet, together with hints of mace, clove and cedar. With a firm tannin structure and naturally balanced acidity, it is built for the long term.
Production: 250 cases. Available in full and half bottles

A deep, concentrated and complex Cabernet with a fine dusty tannin structure. This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on tough rocky ground. A rich complex wine showing the benefit of bottle age. It has the black cherry character typical of our Cabernet, together with mace, clove and cedar. The wine has a firm structure with good acid, and a restrained influence from French oak. At nine years of age it is drinking well and still seems quite youthful.
